Title: Helpful

Hi

I see a 'helpful' rating on our profiles.  Where does this come from?

It is the old "karma" system, revisited. I thought, with the forum upgrade, I might try it out again. :)

Currently, only Devotees can modify karma - and it's being run as an experiment. I may open it to all users; or may leave it as is. Don't know yet. Arguments to be made both ways.

Each person is limited to voting once per hour per member.

I've been liberally upvoting when I see people making helpful comments, though since I tend to read in bursts, a helpful person may only get a +1 for several posts because of the time limit.

I'm hoping people will give more upvoting than downvoting - but that's part of the test. :-)

I don't seem to be able to give karma (I was able a few days ago).  Permissions problem?
