I'd like to suggest two actions that could be performed in Map tool when I double-click in:
- Double right-click: fit full map within Map tool window. Zoom is changed to fit the map in the window.
- Double left-click: center map view where I clicked. Zoom is not changed, the view is displaced to where I clicked at.
I know it's not important. But when I'm working with computer-aided drawings (CAD design), I use these things a lot; maybe it helps.
I like this idea.
Double left-click should already work... You click first time, map moves, second time is redundant. Or not?

No, map only moves if you click outside its current range. It does not put the place you clicked in the center, only if the place was not on the map previously. And then there are still exceptions, for instance when you click on the edge of the map...
Seems sensible. At least the double left click. Double right? Not something my hand wants to do! But can be easily removed if objectionable... so, see r5065.
WOW! It's becoming better than pizzeria.
Thanks.
