Hello everybody,

I've got a trouble when I moved to the new version of simutrans (0.112.1.0). It works perfectly with the basic new pak128 but I wanted to move into this new pak128 my many addons from my old pak128.
When I try to run the game with the pak, i've got this error message:

I'm almost sure that the trouble come from one of my addon but I don't know how to tell which one is faulty.
Have you got any idea of how to arrange this trouble?

Friendly, Isaac_Clarke

I mean you created directory named "addons" and sub directory "pak128" in your personnal folder to transfer your "many" addons?
If you did, you must see a new button : [load with addons] on beginning window when you run the game.
Current projects in progress : improvements of few designed french paks

prissi

You can use the nightly to see the correct error message again.

Non j'ai directement collé les addons parmis tous les autres dans le dossier pak128 justement.

ENG: No i've directly paste my addons among all others .pak files in the pak128 folder

I've never used the nightly before, how can I use it and you think it will help me to solve my problem?

Markohs

1) Go to:

http://simutrans-germany.com/~nightly/simutrans/en.html#_Windows

2) Download 'sim-wingdi.zip'
3) Unzip sim-wingdi.exe into your simutrans folder.
4) Run it. ;)

It could help us help you. (Or even help you help yourself.) The error message as it is in 112.1 doesn't tell any of us much.

Thanks for your help, i've made your instructions and now the error message is indeed more explicite:

So the trouble come from the GOOD-Uranium file. I've checked my folder to locate this file and delete it, but there's no trace of any Uranium-Good.
In fact yesterday i've download a nuclear factory from the japanese addons website but it didn't work so I wanted to delete it from my pak128 folder. i'm sure I deleted all the .pak files of the addons but apparently there is always a file that make this trouble  ???

Ok, apparently some factory or vehicle has this good in its .dat file, and since the good itself is not in your folder, you get this error message. So either you need to remove all files that require the good "uranium"" or you need to add a goods file for it.

That's the problem, i can't know exactly which files require the good uranium and then delete it from my folder

It must be a vehicle or a factory from that uranium addon.
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and maggikraut.

Move your pak128 folder into the addon folder and copy its content as a backup. Install pak128 newly. Now you can start normal pak128 games. Now download again the uranium chain from the link given below and put it into the addon folder.

To load your stuff, you just choose pak128 with addons (which will still crash obviously.)

I've resolved the problem, I've copy and paste progressively all my addons into a new pak128 folder until the game make the error message. The incorrect fil was a vehicle named "magnetic". It's strange because this file wasn't in the nuclear power plant addon... Anyway the game works again.
Thanks to everyone for your assistance :)
Good game

Hi, i had the same problem before - but i have read this thread not till now :( The Problem is caused by the french addon MLM dev (maglev) because it uses good.uranium in the dat file just as the nuclear power plant does. I think this needs to be modified?

The source is available at:

gauthier

That's odd :/
The problem is caused by the presence of the good in the pak or have you deleted the good, causing problem with some vehicles ?

Raiser

Hi Gauthier, by reason that both addons use the pak file "good.uranium.pak" you can not us them both. Simutrans will crash then. I haven't found the use of good.uranium in the dat files of maglev addon? So the question is, why is it necessary? Is it possible to change this? Maybe it would be not much work?

You can download addon nuclear power plant at japanese.simutrans.com

DirrrtyDirk

My guess would be, that one of the freight maglevs has uranium as a good defined (or at least has a graphic for this good defined), and that will lead to a crash when you do not have the good itself in your pakset.

mlmdev.rar contains Good.UraniumOre.pak and Good.Uranium.pak, if you already have them in your pakset, it souldn't lead to a crash, try deleting ones from mlm dev. Anyway if you don't have these files in your pakset, it will definitly crash, maybe you removed them wheareas you shouldn't ?

What's the error message of Simutrans when crashing ?
