What does buying houses do?
« on: October 02, 2017, 08:21:00 PM »
I noticed there's a fun little mechanic that lets the player purchase buildings, such as apartment blocks and houses around the city. The item is located under Special Construction Tools and called Buy House.

What practical uses does this have? Do buildings you own produce any money, or have a higher passenger / mail / goods level with your stations, or is it just for eye candy altogether?

Mostly for eye candy.

Citybuilds are replaced with bigger ones as the time progresses and the city grows. But one day you find one you want to keep untouched because you liked it or it matches your train station. Or, as a more utilitarian function, you might want a placeholder for a future project.

Ah... got it then. Thanks!
