How to rename industries?

As per the title, how can  I rename industries?

I have managed it before as I have some industries in my save that are not the standard names.
I can open the dialogue select and change the name of the industry but when I exit the dialogue and go back in its name has changed back.
I have tried switching to the public service company but that doesn't allow it either.

I am playing on my own map (ie not an online server)

Can you tell what Revision of the program you play?

You know if you change the name of the industry the name of the station do not change too.

Rename industries with Revision 10333 works o my map.
My be try to hit "Enter" after change. For me close of the window is in enough.

Welcome to the forum.

I cannot reproduce this in the latest version of Extended. I agree with what Makie says - I suggest trying pressing "enter" after entering the name.

I'm playing on the latest steam update, 120.41.1 Extended Nightly development build 14.16 #9648a16 Pak128.Britain-Ex-0.9.3

I have tried pressing "enter".
As I type the text box changes and the title bar at the top of the dialogue box changes.
I press enter and the blinking cursor leaves the text box (with the changed name remaining)
When I close the dialogue and open it again the original name is back

I have included some screen shots.
While I have you here, I also noticed some of my tabs seem to show the variable name instead of the value at the variable for example "cd_payload_tab"  or "cl_btn_formation"
Lastly, I notice that convoys show the Average trip time in the times_history tab, but the line does not.

I have tried verifying the integrity of game files in steam but that didn't help either.

Yes I am aware the station name doesn't change with the industry.  I can change the station names fine, just industry names I can't.
Mostly it is annoying when I look at an industry and it has 20 suppliers that all have the same name and I have to hunt around to work out which one is which.

I notice your revision 10333 is a lot higher than my 9648a16.
Is the steam nightly actually quite a way behind?

I will try a full uninstall and reinstall and see if that helps.

No uninstall and reinstall did not fix any of the issues.

Any further ideas on this?

I can rename my stations.
I can rename whole towns.
But I cannot rename individual industries.
