This is a fresh install via Steam using Betas "extended - Simutrans Extended (nightly)" build.

Rightclick on "simutrans.exe" gives me:

File Description: Simutrans-Extended
File version: 120.4.14.20

This is on Windows 10 Home version 21H2 OS build 19044.1889 Feature EExperience Pack 120.2212.4180.0

Any ideas on how to fix?

Did you install the pak128.britain dlc?
If not, you should try that out.

No I had not. That has fixed the issue thank you.

I had no idea that specific DLC was a requirement.
