I wanted to connect to the forum after a long absence, and in the first attempts I couldn't remember my password... Fortunately, I ended up finding it again, but in the meantime I made a password reset request to my email address, and it didn't work, I didn't receive anything (I checked my spam of course)...

I have to admit that I have largely given up trying to make large emailers happy with email from the forum. You can't send straight from the server these days, and I never have found anything that works. As far as I can tell, the server is not on any block lists, but I can't get the forum to successfully send anything out though SMTP.

It may just require someone more clever than me.

But I'm happy to attempt to help anyone with a lost account if you can contact me on Telegram ( https://t.me/Daychilde ) or at isaac on simutrans.com email (sorry for not typing it out, but making it harder for spammers to automatically pick up on the address - replace "on" with @), and hopefully we can sort it out. (You'll have to tell me something I can verify like the email address you used)

The sending works for the simutrans.com e-mail accounts, which means that at least the e-mail server is able to reach people's inbox. Then, the problem lays with the connection of the forum with the e-mail server?

Many big providers have their own secret blocking lists. Also, the forum has no valid IP6 (still) which can ce a reason for email provider to block when a reverse IP6 lookup fails. As Isaac says, it is very hard to please everyone.

I have fixed the e-mail sending. It was indeed a configuration problem. The forum is sending e-mails again.
