A new version of Pak128.Britain-Ex is available to-day: 0.9.0. Download the pakset here, or alternatively, get a complete package with Pak128.Britain-Ex 0.9.0 and the latest Simutrans-Experimental (Windows only) here.

This is a version of Pak128.Britain adapted to work with Simutrans-Experimental. It does not work with Simutrans-Standard. See here for more information on the Standard Pak128.Britain. Note that this pakset is only compatible with Simutrans-Experimental 11.0 and later.

This version - 0.9.0 - is a very major update on the previous 0.8.3 (and RC 0.8.4), and is substantially more complete than either of them, especially with respect to bridges, aircraft and water transport (the latter of which is now functionally complete). The pakset is still somewhat work in progress (especially as regards cost balancing), but is largely playable. At the time of writing, this is the pakset that has the fullest support for Simutrans-Experimental features.

Among the major changes from 0.8.4 (the previous RC version) are:

  • recalibration of the passenger factor to match new passenger generation settings in 11.0;
  • recasting of the mail as "bundles" rather than "bags" to fit with recalibration of mail generation;
  • meters per tile has halved to 125m (doubling the distance scale);
  • full braking physics implemented;
  • major recalibration of steam locomotive physics;
  • major recalibration of station costs/capacities;
  • major recalibration of comfort;
  • industry boost and related parameters fully set;
  • airport runway length implemented;
  • airport control towers implemented;
  • full water transport coverage (including various types of canals);
  • a full set of narrow gauge vehicles; and
  • many more city buildings.
Much of the above work has been done by other contributors (most notably, the authors of the Standard pakset, Kierongreen and The Hood, but also by Matthew W and latterly Neroden and Junna), to whom full credit should be given.

Contributions of artwork, research, etc. are always very welcome: see here for more information on contributing graphics to Pak128.Britain (including Pak128.Britain-Ex).
