I've uploaded bugfixes that have been reported since the relase of 1.02 onto the SVN on sourceforge.  Michael Cruzer has also kindly produced a compiled pakset, which you can get here:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/simutrans/files/pak128.britain/pak128.britain%20for%200-102/pak128britain_1-0-3_0-102.zip/download

If this doesn't work, you can also try:

ZIP: http://simutrans.bplaced.net/files/pak128.britain.zip
7Z: http://simutrans.bplaced.net/files/pak128.britain.7z

Fixes in this release:
- beer is now a crate good
- pubs accept cider
- power stations produce power
- furniture factories have a sensible production rate
- bridges have unlimited length
- metropolitan motorised tube stock intro date fixed
- fix intro dates of some attractions

victoriancoalmine.dat still has not been removed from the SVN...

OK I'll remove it when I'm back but for now can you remove it manually from the download and do a build?  Thanks...

IgorEliezer

Is there a stable version of Pak128.Britain for 102?

If there is, contact me please. (via PM or in Simutrans Site topic). Unless you don't want to include a link here: http://www.simutrans.com/download.htm#Simutrans_per_parts

The Hood is away. I was hoping to produce a version in his absence, but there's a problem with some of the industries, and I need some information from The Hood before I can upload it...

I'm back, but don't have time to do a release (I'm not expecting any time to do any simutrans stuff for the next month).  I think jamespetts now has everything he needs to do a release build though - I think this should be stable and used for simutrans.com.

The Hood

All issues I am aware of have now been fixed in SVN - so anyone with time to make a build from there please do so and share :)

I'm no member of Simutrans at SF.NET, so I can't upload it there, but here is the build:

You can now also download this release from sourceforge (sourceforge have finally let me upload files there!).  Link updated in first post.

Hood,

Seriously, though, this is an excellent pak set, which is why the truck, or lorrie shortage is such a bummer.

Can I download beta files of the trucks somewhere? :)

Thanks!

-danny

The Hood

The source files for all the road vehicles (buses and currently completed trucks) are available for download here: http://simutrans.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/simutrans/pak128.Britain/bus/ - you'll need to compile them with makeobj though.

Ooooh!  Lorries!  This is going to make life a lot better.  :)

If anyone else is feeling impatient, they can grab the 4-Sep pakfile that I compiled here:

http://dannyman.toldme.com/warez/pak128.Britain.zip

If you have limited bandwidth, then just grab the BritBus.pak for your pak128.Britain directory:

http://dannyman.toldme.com/warez/BritBus.pak

Cheers,
-danny

The Hood

Just a suggestion, it may be easier for people if you just uploaded the BritBus.pak, otherwise people have to download all 18Mb of the pakset for only one changed file...

dannyman

Well that's just the price they pay for wanting to take the bus!  MUHAHAH!!

Seriously, though, I'll see about hooking that up after the girlfriend is done borrowing my monitor.

that massive listing is what happens if you enable the "Industries" toggle in the Map with the latest (2646) Simutrans and the latest (1.03) PakBritain.  Normally, each industry type should be listed just once, as happens with pak64 -- is this a problem with Simutrans generally or is it some missing parameter in PakBritain?

jamespetts

The reason for this is that, in Pak128.Britain, there are different versions of the same industries for different periods of time. That was largely put in to take advantage of a Simutrans-Experimental feature of having older industries closing down and being replaced by new ones. In Simutrans-Experimental, multiple industries do not list multiple times in that way.

So, reading the last two posts, one can infer that pak128.Britain 1.03 is experimental-friendly? :)

The Hood

Yes and No.  There is a separate experimental version with all of the experimental features properly enabled.  But it is true to say that pak128.Britain has been designed to allow simutrans experimental features to be easily enabled.  So use the experimental version for experimental, and the standard 1.03 version for standard :)

dannyman

I take it the code fork was truly needed?  Last I tried the experimental version is was far behind standard in terms of say, bugfixes.  For example, the furniture factory output was 1%.  How closely and how well is experimental tracking standard, and where can I download something newer than 1.02?  Can I makeobj from the trunk somewhere?  Are there lorries?  Thanks!

Sincerely,
-daniel

jamespetts

Danny,

the furniture factory issue is not a code issue, but a pakset issue. The code for Simutrans-Experimental is kept up to date weekly with the latest bugfixes from Simutrans-Standard.

That still doesn't explain the furniture factory issue though, especially as it is fixed in both standard pak128.Britain SVN and pak128.Britain-exp github repository.  Certainly the furniture factory bug was fixed in standard 1.03, so why it is still an issue in experimental escapes me.  Maybe it's time for new releases of both standard and experimental versions soon anyway...

jamespetts

The problem may well be that the current binary release of Pak128.Britain-Ex does not contain that fix.

As far as I know, the most current binary release of Pak128-Britain-Ex is related to 1.02.  Standard 1.03, iirc, does not have lorries.

http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=2313.0 says as of Aug 30 we are on 1.02, and says there are links to source at:

http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=3131

Alas, that last resource links only to a zipfile with no version number, only an implication of 1.02.

So, if someone can point me (and these resources) where to download a more current experimental branch of this pak, I'd be far more excited to playtest the latest experimental simutrans. :)

Maybe latest simutrans-ex can bundle latest pak128.Britain-ex?

Thanks!

-danny

jamespetts

Danny,

the next version of Pak128.Britain-Ex will be released when the lorries and city cars are finished, and a bundled version will be made available.
