A new version of Simutrans-Experimental is available to-day: 6.7. See here for more information on how to download, install and set up the latest version. For those already familiar with the installation and setup, here are some quick links:

Version 6.7 contains various bug fixes, as well as all the latest fixes from the latest nightly release of Simutrans-Standard. A full list of changes follows.

Changes

  • FIX: Crashes when goods AI used
  • FIX: Incorrect loading of the distance_per_tile value from older saved games.
  • CHANGE: Maximum speeds shown in the convoy windows are based on the likely maximum speed that the convoy can acheive in practice. (Bernd Gabriel)
  • CODE: Explicit typecasts avoid warnings (Bernd Gabriel)

Feedback and testing

Thanks to all those who have tested Simutrans-Experimental and provided useful feedback: bugs in the last version would not have been found were it not for the helpful input of testers. Any further feedback from this version would be very much appreciated, including (1) bug reports; (2) information as to how well-balanced that the game is; (3) any difference in approach/strategy needed for Simutrans-Experimental as over Simutrans-Standard; and (4) any other useful feedback.

Happy playing!

Edit: Changed the direct download link to point to the latest version.

James,

It seems that the zip file from the above link for Windows binaries contains only v6.6 . After launching the game (both GDI and SDL versions), the title bar shows v6.6, and the dates of the executables in the zip file are 29 Aug, 2009.

Knightly,

thank you for spotting that. I had the link pointing to the wrong place. Fixed now!
