Does working industry affect passenger flow?

I'm going to support a food production industry chain (once I have enough cash), that will end at a supermarket in one of the towns.

1. If the supermarket is supplied with food from the factory, will it affect the passenger flow somehow?

2. Will the supermarket consume food at all? Or will I have to supply it with canned food and beer as well?

1. Any kind of good you transport, there is no direct relation between good consumption and passenger flow(spawn).
2.It will. If you provide cann and beer, they will be consumed too. If you keep market stock always above 1, that is best you can do to
   help population grow.(I assume it is pak128.)

For 1, atleast, I'd like to see some interaction between good and passenger in future but it is another story.
