I'm still moving my website from simugraph.com to funkelwerk.de. Lost of links still to be adpated, and some content to be moved.

Yesterday I made a new frontpage for http://www.funkelwerk.de

Now I finally have an almost professional looking homepage :)

I'll try to keep you updated with further changes.

Spike

Sojo will take over simutrans.de soon. He'll start with my old pages as content, and then slowly update the website.

I'm moving everything else to funkelwerk.de and with this move the migration will be done, somewhen in march most likely.

Today I had time again for a photo tour, and I published some of the better ones:

Spike

I've updated my very old list of Simutrans tips:

http://www.funkelwerk.de/site/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=35:simutrans-tips&catid=10:simutrans-manual&Itemid=43

I suspect there is still some outdated information in there. If you spot bad mistakes, let me know.

If someone liked breakout or arkanoid - I felt inspired to work on a small breakout remake:

sojo

2. level works fine.

The ball can be a bit faster.

New update - still with slow ball, but with many improvements to the user interface:

Spike

Photo blog updates.

Two nighttime photos:

And a more light-art photo:
http://www.funkelwerk.de/forum/index.php?topic=151.msg902#msg902

The latter one turned out very good I think, must be one of my highest quality photos ever.

"Meditations in Doh" updated - new scoring mechanics which try to favor calm and relaxed gameplay:

Sojo will take over simutrans.de soon. He'll start with my old pages as content, and then slowly update the website.

News: Simutrans.de is now owned by Sojo. He will build a new German, Simutrans homepage there.

Edit: Currently Sojo has a backup of my old pages up there.

Meanwhile I've added a new drawing tip how to separate foreground and background in a drawing.

http://www.funkelwerk.de/site/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=59:fore-and-background&catid=9:graphics-and-design&Itemid=42

I'm not sure how helpful these tips are - most seem quite obvious and I'm not a good painter either:

Also I'd liek to overcome these horrible links that my CMS creates.

Forum got a makeover - more green, less lines, stronger structure. Might need a while to get used to, but I think I like it better than the former theme:

I have moved more pages from my old Simutrans manual to the new server and tried to update them:

http://www.funkelwerk.de/site/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&id=10&Itemid=43

Just look at the articles with the lowest access counts to see what is new.

Edit: moved all of the construction howtos now, updated quite a lot. I'll try to update the remaining ones some day soon, too.

Spike

I didn't remember that I wrote so many Simutrans howtos ... now I have all howtos moved, and most of them updated, save a few which should still be up to date enough to be helpful the way they are.

http://www.funkelwerk.de/site/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&id=10&Itemid=43

Also got a lot of the older dialogs and windows covered. Line management, finances and the modern things are missing, and I'll have to write new articles once I have time again.

Pati

WOW... That's really great!!!
Design is not complicated, but very nice.
It's fun to read all your different pages! Of course, the Simutrans pages are the best of the best! These interviews about you are very interesting too. VERY good work!
:o ;D ;D ;D
Here are some Screenshots from me.
Thanks to all SimuDevelopers!!!:):):):):)
I don't speak english that well, but I think you can understand me:)

Spike

Thank you :) The nice templates that come with Joomla sure helped to set up a nice looking website. Much of the Simutrans related content still needs updating, but it should cover the more basic features quite nicely already. These changed only little during the past years.

Photo blog was updated with two new spring photos:
http://www.funkelwerk.de/forum/index.php?topic=151.msg948#msg948

And my breakout clone "brickdoh" got an update:
http://www.funkelwerk.de/forum/index.php?topic=311.msg958#msg958

Spike

Another update for my breakout clone "Brickdoh" .The ball now has gotten spin, and the world has gotten gravity. This gives the game some interesting twists :)

http://www.funkelwerk.de/forum/index.php?topic=311.msg970#msg970

Zeno

Oh, how funny it is now! Amazing! :D
PS: Now the ball tries to go aourd me several times (it seems it's alive!), and at the end it has success... :P

jonasbb

The gravity is a nice effect, but i think the graveti is to heavy or power to pull the ball up is to low, because the ball flies often like an ellipse ([German] mit einer Form wie eine Ellipse).

Spike

Elliptic curves are most likely the result of ball spin. The gravity is effect is very low, and you can only see light parabolic curve segments even if the ball is completely spinless.

But more than mathematic precision, I liked how it turned into a fun effect ;D

I'm curious, but it seems I have a DNS problem and can't access files.[ simutrans [dot] us (site down, do not visit) ] right now. Will try again tomorrow, looking forward to see the results :)

Edit:
Still no luck. DNS cannot resolve files.[ simutrans [dot] us (site down, do not visit) ]

Going on with cool photo effects topic, for those who like photographs and panoramas, you may be interested on this great software called Hugin. It's cross-platform open source panorama photo stitching and HDR merging program. I've already used it and it's simply awesome.

Take a look at the results... http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Archivo:Pozo_de_los_Humos.png

P.S: Yes, I'm the author of the panorama... ;D

Dwachs

nice breakout clone :)

I think the effect of spin is too large (at least unexpected :) )

I accidentally managed the ball to fly a loop, so it was actually below the board and spiraled up again. And Tata: I now at level 2 :D

nice breakout clone :)

Thanks :)

The spin effect was adjusted a few times, and the last versions had much less spin than some of the earlier ones. if you try, I think you can still get the ball into a loop, though ;)

The spring tiles in later levels seem to be very difficult.

Overall this was a nice project, much fun to develop.
