 ??? ??? ???

I dono this could be my doing.. but when i expand the map after i start playing the parts that i have expanded no longer have trees :(

I have to go through and replant entire forests for the map to look reasonably earthlike :P

Anyway i just joined this forum 10 minutes ago just to ask this specific question so.. ya  :D
Dont take that the wrong way though.. im not filling up your member list for just this reason. This game looks neat so i may stay for awhile ;)

this forum is made to have members, you can come to post just a single question ;)

Well your problem is a glitch, someone will probably make a patch soon.

If you signed up, then you are already in our member list. Otherwise you're not able to post.

Welcome. ;D.

Welcome to the forum! :-) And we're here to help. Well, as best as we can, anyway.

I'm used to seeing maps with tons and tons of trees, not a lack of them...

Which version of Simutrans are you running, and which pak? That might help us narrow it down a bit. :)

The expanded part of the map is just bleak terrain, without trees, rivers or cities. I don't know if there are any plans to add this feature in the future. Right now you can work around it by either starting the game with a much larger map, or by expanding and adding things manually as public player.

Since your initial posting is a bit ambiguous  the question now is: Does expanding the map remove the trees from the whole map, the parts you had already before expanding it?

Isaac Eiland-Hall

ARGH. Reading comprehension for the loss. Sorry I missed that.

But yes: At least for now, no forests for expanded map sections.

Now that I have that in mind and re-read OP's first post, it's clear he's saying that the *expanded* parts have no trees, and that he's adding them already.

Unfortunately, for now - that's the answer: You must add them to expanded parts.

I'm not sure if there are any plans to change this behaviour - but Simutrans is constantly being developed, so perhaps in some future version... :)

Aight :) thx for the info, and the welcome :)

lol sdog that has nothing to go with trees

Anyway i have experienced the same problems as you zuneza. What i do is have a map which doesn't have trees in the first place. I actually don't like maps with trees because i have trouble seeing what i'm doing. So then if your map is like that the part which you have added onto the map doesn't stand out.

Let the moderators moderate. Please don't try and help.

Also, try hitting '%' (shift+5) on a map - it hides trees. You may find it helpful.

Im a guy that appreciates the little things in life, (probably why im playing 128 XD). So i like having alot of crap on a map to look at. But thx for the info tho :)

You too isaac. Hotkeys ftw!

You might give pak.German a try for sheer landscape prettiness - there's a lot of eyecandy in that pak. :)

Zuneza

Oh really? i never would have guessed thx :)
