If my mind serves me right, the first game of this genre I saw with construction time taken into account was "Transport Giant" from JoWooD.

I think it would be very good if there is a chance in the game that bad design causes bankruptcy. Players who still are always free to activate freeplay mode. This is an incentive to think in advance when starting to build a network.

sdog: I agree, but judging from the help posts i see on the forum, this may be raising the learning curve a bit too much for the average player (or the below average player).
