Car route finding has been present since 8.0. If you want to have a look at the operation of passenger/goods route-finding, go to the "display" menu, and it will give some detailed statistics about the performance of that part of the game engine.

The only thing that Knightly changed about the centralised pathing system in 9.2 were a few things to make it compatible with network mode; but Inkelyad's suggestion about profiling is a good one.

Edit: I am informed by Knightly that the centralised pathfinding system changes in 9.2 are only enabled in network mode, so there are no relevant changes to the pathfinding system that could affect performance from 9.1.

I shall assume that what remains of this issue has been fixed, as there have been no further reports of trouble since the release of 9.3.
