[patch] Improve comments (typos etc.), comment translation

Hi,
I'm new here and started reading through the source code. Before I'm posting code changing patches I just did a few changes in comments, so the main program should stay unchanged.

What about the German comments? I've added an English translation and kept the original in the files. Or should I remove the original German comments after I've translated them?

And what about translating variables etc. in the source code from German to English? Would such patches be accepted here?

I'm looking forward to your answer.
