Display settings dialogue needs drag and pull corner to resizing - as is on minimap.

It is needed because by clicking on texts some options are enabled/disabled/switched to else choice (it is right) but input fields of some options (and even switch arrows) are covered by texts.

See attached picture.

PS: Called version is not the first where it is as I wrote. It is also in previous versions. And I beg your pardon for posting in wrong thread. Please, relocate it into Development and bug reports.

That's a translation problem, on Portuguese these was happening too, but we corrected it.

Václav

An_dz, it may be translation problem - but its correction by way you wrote is possible only in some languages. If it would be so easy also in Czech language, I have already done that.

I admit that it can be difficult for some languages, but for us too. Lot of places we wanted to translate but we found problems like too little space.
Try abbreviating some words. We did it in Portuguese. We also changed the phrase to something like: Subterranean View per Height. Course we abbreviated the Subterranean.

For English I would remove that selected. I think it's still understandable.

Layer cannot be changed from display menu, because the number cannot be reached. Clicking box results in enabling disabling, variable is not accessible because of the overlap.

Václav

This is quite old problem.

I called this in topic [r4180] Display settings dialogue is too narrow. You can read there result -  :-[. So I currently thank you for reviving of this issue.

I suggest to merge this topic with above called topic - and continue discussion then.

Clear example of translator not testing their translations ... but if finnish works out then this is a translator error. Changed to "sliced map view"

Václav

Prissi, really it is not easy to write that translation as short as is needed without losing of meaning of text. Some languages may have big problems with length of text of translation of this.

For this I called very simple solution in topic called in my previous post in this topic - drag and pull corner as is on minimap or depots and so on.

If an English translation can't make it, Latin language translations are "doomed" to overflow the menu too since Latin words are way longer.

prissi

The english text can make it:
"Sliced map view"

Just somebody in simutranslater changed this to more verbose without checking it.

VS

The best way out is calling it just "slice mode" and adding explanation to help file.

edit: original was probably better then...

My projects... Tools for messing with Simutrans graphics. Graphic archive - templates and some other stuff for painters. Development logs for most recent information on what is going on. And of course pak128!

Václav

For Czech language is make a bit shorter translation available (and I did it few moments ago) - but as I say:
Why to hardly solve length of translation if is accessible else (and much easier) solution - drag and pull corner as is on minimap and so on?

Parsley, sage, rosemary, and maggikraut.

Václav

Thanks. I shall see what I shall see.

Could you merge this topic with [r4180] Display settings dialogue is too narrow? It is useless to have two topics about the same.
