second supply line

Good afternoon all,  using pak128 open nightly 1308

I have a established supply line from paper mill A to print shop B via truck.
Due to supply demand I added a second supply line: paper mill A to train terminal A via truck, rail to train terminal B, then truck to print shop B. The problem the paper mill makes no paper for the second supply line but continues making paper for the original supply line.  How do I make both supply lines work?    Thank you for any help.

Simutrans will take the shortest route, e.g. the route with less transfers. So now it prefers the direct truck route. Either make your train route more direct, or build in 2 extra transfers on the truck route. Or remove the truck route completely...

I have a sizeable inventory of paper builtup at the mill, if I remove the original truck route will this inventory transfer to the truck-rail route ( now the only route ) or will it be lost?

If they are the the same station (various stops with same station name), yes.

What's stored in one station, won't be moved to other even if the vehicle do the same thing.

The trucks serving the new paper mill A to train terminal A need to pickup the paper from a different station than the trucks on the paper mill A to print shop B route. This will allow both supply lines to work.

The inventory will be rerouted if you remove a route. As long as at least one route to the destination still exists, it won't be lost.

I am just a little confused. I removed the all truck route and reasigned the same trucks to take paper to train terminal A. Now nothing is moving. The original inventory of paper is still there filling up the warehouse capacity and the mill has not produced any new paper for the new route. It is now three games months into the change. Help!  Thank you
