Last bug to report.

In experimental 10.1, during spring when higher elevations lose their snow, parts of the railroad bed graphics fail to be redrawn.  I can force the graphics to correct themselves by switching to the underground slice view and back again.  The attached screenshot has an undrawn tangent section of track going diagonally across.

Again, this shows up in the savegame http://simutrans-germany.com/files/upload/NZ1856.sve
Simutrans experimental 10.1 for linux x386.
Does not occur in experimental 9.12.
Pak-brit-exp 0.8

This also occurred in 9.12 and earlier, actually. It's rather annoying.

Thank you for the report - is this a Pak128.Britain problem, though, or an Experimental problem? There are no Experimental-specific features in the graphics code for ways (or the graphics code generally, apart from vehicle liveries), so I am doubtful that this is an issue specifically with Experimental.

I found an earlier report of the same bug, http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=5554.

This bug occurs reproducibly in 10.1 and was not noticed in 9.12 when using the same pakset.  Since it seems to be limited to diagonal rail tiles in pak-brit-exp, it does seem to be a bug shared between the pak-set and the program.

jamespetts

I asked in that thread whether anyone could reproduce it in Standard, and nobody replied - I can't really track it down without first knowing that it's an Experimental only problem.

#5
it doesn't happen in standard nightly r4824 with regular pak brit.

it doesn't happen in ex 10.1 with pak64 ex 0.1

definitely happens in ex 10.1 with pak brit ex 0.8.1
what is odd, is that not all of the diagonals disappear.

i remember it from pre 10.x versions. Only seen with experimental+pak.britain-exp so far.

AEO - thank you for checking. This is bizarre indeed, as I really have not made any changes to way graphics in Experimental. Does anyone have any idea how the graphics end of the code works such as might give rise to this sort of issue?

Has anyone tried simutrans experimental and standard with standard pak.britain?

I tried it, but it crashes at startup.

BTW, what version of standard should we be comparing to?

I would guess the 110.x nightly.

I think this bug is also related. It doesn't do that in standard.

Hmm - AEO is right: we need to test against the latest nightly, since the Experimental releases are synchronised with it. Can people test with that and report back?

It looks like AEO had tested this with the second latest nightly, r4824, and standard pak-brit without problems.  I just tested with r4827 and found no problems as well.

Experimental 10.1 with either pak-brit or pak-brit-exp has the bug.

jamespetts

I wonder whether this is a makeobj issue - can people test the latest Pak128.Britain Standard compiled with the latest nightly Standard makeobj?
