Hallo,

after a longer break i downloaded the latest Simutrans 110.6 Experimental 10.2 with pak128.britain-Ex-0.8.2.

After generating a new map i missed bridges in the connecting roads between cities. I mean, cities are only connected if there is no river between them. Otherwise no road is build or if possible the road is build around the river. I generated a lot of new map but never where bridges used. It didn't matter if the timeline was on or off or what starting year. in the standart pak 128 bridges get used in the map generating process.

I don't know if someone else has the same problem or if its intended.

Have a nice day

Hello

I can't reproduce.
Generating the map, try increasing "intercity road length" (>500).

Hi

your right Guiseppe. When i increase the "intercity road lenght" bridges are build.

But why doesn't it work with small values? My map is 256x256, road lenght is 256 and 24 cities. The road lenght should be enough to connect cities.

Well, suppose i just use a real big value to have no problem anymore with this issue.

The road generation system is not specific to Experimental, so I am moving this to the general help requests section.
Download Simutrans-Extended.

Bridges are considered even shorter in that regards of tiles, but they carrier a higher penalty (about 5x times if memory serves right) to keep them are short as possible and avoid uneccessary ones.
