Graphical glitch with tree under bridge

It seems the graphics engine was changed quite a lot since I left development and got funny new options to show graphical glicthes. Here I have a diamond cut-out (or cut-in?) of a tree.

And I think I'll just leave the spelling of glicthes as my finbgers typed it. It matches the topic so well :D

I believe trees under bridges only 1 tile high from the ground (our even 2) and under elevated ways should be cut and prevented from growing new...

Dwachs

This should not happen with latest nightlies  ???

On which tile is the tree? Directly under bridge?
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and maggikraut.

I must take more care when reporting bugs and give more detailed information, sorry. This was with 111.0, the latest official release. I think the tree was right under the bridge. If it's fixed (or likely to be fixed), just go on as usual and forget about this issue :) I was just surprised about the diamond shaped cut into the tree, this is an effect that I didn't remember from the old graphics engine.

This stems from the new engine, which draw the tiles with clipping along the tile borders to reduce very much clipping errors. If the tree is just under the bridge, this is the usual result now.

If you mean by 'now' the latest release then you are right. If 'now' refers to current trunk ... then you are wrong since r4972 ;)

Now (Version 111.1) the tree is almost not displayed at all.

Dwachs

Yes, it is cutted to not shine through bridges. Obviously, this is aimed for the non-transparent bridges in the other paks.

Just show the tree entirely in front or behind the bridge and it should be ok. Cuts into and off the tree are disturbning the eye more than a slight graphical object depth inconsistency (which we see in forests all the time I think).

Dwachs

This would create even worse graphical glitches with any kind of bridge imho.

At a second thought I'd want to call the current solution good enough. Particularly since I think there are eaiser and more worthy targets in my other threads. So we can close this request of mine. Sorry for being that picky.
