City car alignment

I just tried making a city car, and used the same alignments I use for buses.  I am using left hand drive, and it works properly for the bus, but not for the citycar!  However, existing citycars manage to switch left/right drive correctly, so I am wondering if city cars need a different alignment.  Can anyone help?
