Screenshot file format

Windows screenshots are saved as png file.

For Linux, however, as bmp.

Is it possible that Linux also saves screenshots as png files.

The reason Windows supports saving to PNG is because Windows offers platform support for saving as PNG. And it only works on Windows XP and newer, or Windows 98 with .Net installed, which probably does not matter much anymore. BMP is a much easier format, so that whats Simutrans uses for otherwise.

As far as I know, libpng is only used by makeobj. And I have never understood libpngs API.

libpng is linked implicitely through SDL, so PNG support should be possible (apart from server biulds.)
