I have currently downloaded a city achieve in here before, and I further made some extensions to it and I save it. However after saving it and opening it again, I found that when the save was loading, the Simutrans crashed. Can you guys tell me the reason? thankx.

EDIT:

Additional: Only that particular game is 'dead', the others are ok.

Mod note: please, avoid double-postings...

Could be myriads of reasons...

First state the version of Simutrans and what pak you are using. Further start Simutrans with the option -debug. You now will get an error message before you crash. If you post that message here, someone might be able to help you.

What kind of extensions did you make? That might be helpful too.

And please: don't double post, just edit your last contribution.

Nightly... I suppose and pak128. I dont know how to start the debug. Can you tell me?
P.S. I am so sorry. I will reminder myself of that.

If you are using Windows, then create a file simutrans.bat in your simutrans directory. Edit it with notepad and just type "simutrans.exe -debug" (no quotes!). Save the file and double click it.

It said, ERROR: haltestelle_t::rdwr():
and also fabrik_t errors

What that means?

Combuijs

Hmm, something wrong during reading of a station. Are you sure that you've created the save-file with the same version as you are using now? For example, a save-game created with 0.102 will load in the latest nightly, but a save-game created with the latest nightly, will not necessarily load with 0.102.

I think you might be better off with 0.102. Most nightlies are stable enough, but not all of them can be guaranteed to work properly.

Previously I have opened it with no problems though

And if it is so, what should I do?

With the same executable and with the same pak? If yes, then this sounds like a bug to me. You might look in the Development and Bug reports section, for example this one looks familiar: http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=2343.0, though it is a few months old.

There is a map rotation problem in 102.0.
If you rotated a none-square map by 90/270 degrees before saving, simutrans can't read it.

Do you think this may be the case ?

pp123123

I can't remember whether I have rotated it by this particular degree. But at last - is that the truth that my save was unrecoverable?

But I have used lots of add-ons to play this save,
(mostly in Hong Kong type buses and trams, and Japanese planes)
You can download via japanese.simutrans.com and http://www.geocities.jp/hksimutrans/)
Also, some buildings are downloaded from japanese.simutrans.com

Thank you. Try this one.

But same problem will happen again, if you rotated this map by 90/270 degrees before saving.

This problem itself had been fixed before and current nightly version has no problem.

So, keep current rotation before saving, or use nightly version.

Thank you very much~ :)
BTW, how can you fix it? I am amazed!
