QuoteBut i couldn't really imagine how it'll look. With or without comic style?

Of course witheout comic style, it's not the style of pak128 so I will juste take shape and color.

A first preview. I've to change some little things and to create the winter version.
What do you think, vilvoh? It's not a 1:1 copy but i think (hope) that everybody can see the Picasso Tower in this skyscraper.

vilvoh

Absolutely perfect!!! two thumbs up... ;D

I love it!!!!  :o

P.S: the night version is almost equal as the real life version..btw, if you want a 3d template for Agbar Tower, just tell it.. ;)

Thank you very much!

I don't need a 3d template now - i tried to paint it and it looks nice. The building will be a little bit smaller but not less nice (nice? okay, the architecture is strange), hehe. :)

As far as I know, at Barcelona they call it The Big Cucumber... ::)

I would make it a little higher, 3 or 4 floors, and you paint it too grey. imho, the original one has more color but from distance, it seems to have a grey color scheme. Have a look at the images.
P.S: You got more images of the tower at this link (including night photos)

P.S: In spite of that, the shape is perfect, seems rounder enough

From sky you see the window modules (?) and so you can't see much from the nice colors.
You more see the reflections from the sky. :)
So i've modified the design.

My template is based on a bird view photo (bing maps) and it looks like my graphic.
It's not a 1:1 copy and i think it's nice enough for pak96.comic.

And - as a matter of fact - you've permission to modify this building.
Don't be shy.  ;D  :)

My projects... Tools for messing with Simutrans graphics. Graphic archive - templates and some other stuff for painters. Development logs for most recent information on what is going on. And of course pak128!

Zeno

Woooooow!!!  :o

I work three streets from it!!! And vilvoh, we don't call it Big Cucumber... but I won't explain since people is too young here :P
Actually IRL is a little more blueish, but it's really fine for pak96.comic. You could have asked me for some first hand photos!

Great job, Alex!

Well, you know...the Big Cucumber nickname may also have some sexual connotations... ::)

Thanks a lot, Zeno! The world isn't that big, right? xD
The blue (grey ^^) is more blue now. I think it looks a little bit more futuristic now.

Great! I like it even more! Actually it probably has been designed with that bit of futuristic fashion.

No it isn't. Just a map of 2048x2048 xDDD

PS: About the name... we just call it Agbar tower. It's an abbreviation of "Aguas de Barcelona", which means "Barcelona Water" Company.

gauthier

it's really nice, good job.
You could give me a piece of advice about drawing curves, I have many troubles with that :(

You'll laugh... My girlfried thought this, too. :D

I didn't want to say anything, but it looked more like a tampon to me. But either way.... Definitely feminine of some sort! lol...

(perhaps we can also tell apart the married guys from the single ones... hehe)

vilvoh

imho, pak96 comic need some extra statues and monuments, and I think this Gundam statue would fit perfectly in the pakset style (link to gallery)

Better to make it generic to avoid copyright complaints, but... that sounds fun :D

...and please tell me that's shopped... hehe

It looks like one. I am sorry, it does. You have to try really really hard to make yourself think of even a cucumber instead. I like it anyway, and I hope it will populate my cities soon, bringing massive amounts of joy to Simuthanians (or whatever the perverted tram-riding folk is called).

I've spent expotential amounts of time exposing myself to the divine pleasures of playing pak96, and I must say you cannot possibly get enough. The sheer goodness is overwhelming! That said, being able to complain about everything, I have to tiny teeny gripes. Namely, there are two buildings from the past that started to stand out, and not necessairly in a positive way, among the copious amounts of wonderful in the latest editions of the pak. They are:
* The big pinkish rectangular commercial building labelled "Shop"
* The midsized Town Hall (light brownish with red roof)

I was quietly wondering if the next time around the Brose Werk could upgrade those, so that Sojo could delight us with replacements in the next release?

Just a little quiet wish I will keep to myself, obviously ;)

This builds are originals. I can't they remove. But mayby master alex will paint it over, some day.

Well, there are three ways imho:

  • I repaint the building with alex-typical aspects; but we've to ask 'luki haba' from the german forum first for it because i don't wanna do that without his permission.
  • I paint a complete new building; but it'll the end for luki habas graphic.
  • We'll ask luki haba for a new graphic. Maybe he wanna paint a new one, with the current pak style... :)

After three months i have a new graphic for you! :)

TheoNET Services.

Combuijs

Yes, he's back again!

And the building is very fine indeed. But it should not take you three months, should it  :D ? Hope to see more soon. By the way, is TheoNET Services any good?

Thanky. :) No, the next graphic won't take three months.
Don't you like "TheoNET Services"? I have an open mind for alternatives. Don't be shy! *lol*

KrazyJay

Alex, that building looks great, like I said on FB. That style really appeals to me! Great to see you back on this project!

I guess it's the famous Theological Network, a connectionist (neural-network) expert system with more than 10.000 rules, that acts as a skilled preacher that tries to prove god's existence without using the scientific method. It's used mainly by soft creationists and Intelligent Design supporters. But it's only a guess.. :::)
