Hi, long time no see. hehe.

Well, I was playing for a while on a new save game and somehow, I have problems with Choose Signals now. I started using them two-three days ago and it was useful when you have two platforms.

But now, I have one issue.

See this picture:

All the trains usually go on the left-most side (on the image) platform. No trains were using the right platform. I installed the choose signals at two blocks away (where the rails were joined).

Are there any solutions, so that trains can use two platforms?

Thanks.

It looks like from the image that the choice signal is on the intersection.  It should be one tile (or more) before it.

Tried that and it wasn't working.

Let this topic put in this way:

Top Left is listed as 1,1
Bottom Right is 5,9
Station is on red, warehouse next to a plantation is on lighter grey and the rails are on darker grey
One grid = one tile

I have a station with two platforms. There are two lines (lime green and hot pink) using the tracks of the stations. The lime green line (LGL) trains do not pick up cargo on the station will the hot pink line (HPL) trains do. The problem is when a HPL train loads it cargo on station 3,3, the LGL train(s) get stuck on tile 2,2. Once HPL train's last car left on 3,9, the LGL train uses the tracks of station 3,3 and continues straight.

I placed signals on 2,2 and 4,1 but none of them seems to solve the problem.

EDIT: What I it to work is that if a train is loading its cargo on one platform, another train can pass through the second platform.

So can anyone help me where to put the signals? Sorry for the confusion but it helps my work.

Maybe your train is just one car too long to clear the last tile?

And you are sure there are no waypoints in the line?

(In order to found the error on this, a savegame is really needed.)

Not an error though.
And my game has lots of addons. How about I send you the program with save file (I have nightly) through email?

My email should allow upt to 4GB, so this could be ok. But I do not need the executable, just sve and addon (although for the problem they may not needed.)

there's middle rail electrification used, and it's an electric loco, check that you have all tiles of the other platform electrified.

The LGL trains are not stopping at the station, it is not in their schedule at all?

I think I would try these two things:
1) The train that does stop and load, HPL, I would make its schedule stop at 4,6.  That way the shortest through route is clear for LGL to drive straight through.
2) check the signal type at 1,4.  Is it definitely a choose platform signal?  Normal and Presignals will not work and cause a blockage you describe.  Choose signals work fine (just built your layout as described at it works)

Don't worry I'll give you the pak128 file (includes addons) and save file. Holdon. :)

No, not at all.

For now, I'll stick to that first. Thanks ;)

It is a choose signal.

The problem could be the choose signal at 1,4 is trying to find a way for LGL to find a route to its destination (which isnt the station in the diagram). The route maybe blocked further away so it stops at the signal.   Use the 'b' button to highlight in red the route the trains are taking/reserving.  Look at the whole route that lights up in red when the trains do move.  That might give you an idea where the blockage maybe.

Try giving LGL a waypoint destination of 3,9.  Maybe the choose signal at 1,4 will then choose a route through the station in order to get to 3,9

Checking electrification and train lengths as previously suggested should also be done.
-I had a train wait at a choose signal in the PakBritian Demo game I am playing. Only one of the station platforms had the third rail electrified that the loco needed, so it couldn't choose another. Just one bit of electric missing would stop the choice. Just rebuild the route (without demolishing it) that might connect up any bits missing.
-I have had a train loading fully in a station, but the length according to the depot was one tile longer. I thought I was getting away with having that extra wagon on the train. But it really messed up trains trying to pass on track just behind it.

Good luck.
