Hey guys new here,

I recently been rendering track in isometric view but i can't get it to line in an isometric grid. I don't understand what I'm getting wrong but i'm hopeing some one here is expert at isometric graphics and can see the mistake i have made.

On the left is the render which fits perfectly in the grid yet when i place it in my isometric test grid ( see right hand side) it doesn't line up. Can any one explain the issue I am getting and how i can solve it =/

Zeno

Well, I would advice to beware of the view->persp/ortho setting (which is evil!), also changeable with NumPad5 key.
Also check the camera angle, that should be 60º to ground IIRC.

sirchick

Yeh i checked that i am using Blender.

The angle is : 60, 0 ,45 and orthographic view.  =/

Zeno

Well, not sure... I can't think of anything else.
What do you exactly mean with "your isometric test grid"?
Also, might we get that blend file to check it up?

sirchick

Sure download from here:

it was too large to attatch to post! I am testing the renders on a 64 by 32 iso grid so the image is 4 times that size (256 by 128) just encase you want to test it on your grids.

Zeno

I can't see anything wrong there. The renders are ok, and all proportions keep fine. Maybe it's a matter of positioning... something displaced accidentally over Z axis or similar thing, or an alignment problem.

I'm confused by what you mean with that?

Surely it should line up any way cos its all divisible by the isometric grid size?
