Hello i'm playing 112.0 with my new experimental pak. I seem to pay pay toll to myself and never see the money back. That's strange. Is that how it's supposed to work ?

Are you sure you aren't paying toll to public service for using public roads?

You can turn off or change toll settings with the simuconf.tab/settings dialog lines:

toll_runningcost_percentage: (percentage of running cost of the vehicle)
toll_waycost_percentage: (percentage of the cost of building the way: this is not recommended if you have public canals!)

Setting both to zero will turn off tolls.
Why do we park on the driveway and drive on the parkway?

I'm pretty sure of that, my operational profit was clearly following my maintenance cost. I was planning to make the pay toll doing that exactly. So a player who would use 100% of the road would have to repay a bit more than 100% of the maintenance.

Sorry, I am a bit confused by what you wrote.

Road toll is not based on maintenance costs (though I think it should, this is another discussion...). You have two choices on which to base your maintenance costs, the cost of building a way or the cost per km of a vehicle driving over it. Note that both of these costs are per km per vehicle! The game does not calculate how many people use the road and split costs among them. Thus, if you set toll to 100% of building costs, and 25 trucks per month pass over that tile, you will pay the building costs 25 times in toll!

Note that you cannot set toll higher than 100% (and because of what I wrote above I would highly recommend not even coming close to that number). If you set toll higher than 100% it might go to zero, though I'm not sure.

But I know the amount of vehicles crossing a road because I'm the one that make the rules  :police: .

Ok forget about this one, I just realized my huge mistake here : The vehicle come back on the same road, so there is 2x as much traffic for the paytoll. My lines was on a huge part of public road and I was paying twice too much.

I'm sorry about that.
