Why there is this (a number) before the name of my vehicules?

I know it's only a detail but I have a quetion : Why, each time I close Simutrans and I open it again, a number in parenthesis appears before all the name of my vehicules. I erase it each time but it always comes back the next time i close Simutrans. How i could remove it definitly?

One cannot erase this number - it is the internal ID of the convoy.

Ahh ok thks but it could be good to remove that in futur release.

I don't think so, Robert.

But I have a better idea - switch between names, IDs and both.

I think having the id as part of the name helps a lot when reporting problems, or rather when investigating problems others have reported. Names are not a unique identifier. It could arguably be shown next to, rather than inside, the name field. That way one avoids the confusing fact that the number can be temporarily removed.
