Fatal Error: Depot_t::vehicle_laden() - invalid vehicle type $7F

So, I saved my game, and when I came back to load it, I get this error. Is my save corrupted? Can I get it back? I hope I can recover it.

I also got it once. Sadly I had to make a whole new savegame as I did not save it beforehand (I was an idiot), but IDK about the effects on an existing savegame.

It seems likely (but not entirely certain) from the description that the saved game is corrupted. If you are (or anyone is) able to reproduce reliably the circumstances in which this corruption comes to occur, that would help me to find and fix the problem.
