Higher contrast in the map

The current map used a lot of (dark) green with very low contrast between ground and other items such as factories, railways and roads. This makes it very hard or even impossible to find most factories on the map. Especially when colour blind or when playing in a bright environment.
I have added some examples, with the car factory being a positive example. It's bright 'icon' makes it easy to find.
Having more contrast between the icons and the map, or also having the option to always show Factorynames on the map (as it does with mouseover) would be a nice accessibility option.

I am not sure if I am correct what you would like, but I am worried about that this would demand re-coloring all factories in map. Because some ones may be "invisible" on some parts of map for their colour (and ).

What I mean? One factory may be well visible on lighter parts of map and wrong visible on dark parts of map - or well visible on dark parts of map and wrong visible on light parts of map.

Also, factories visibility on maps very depends on map size.

So, hard to say how to achieve better factories visibility on map.

I think it would be easy to either add a bright or a dark frame around the factories when slected (which enlarge factories)

If I understand the request correctly, wasn't this already addressed in SVN r12081 (commit eed17cf8c6)?

That revision added a black or white contrasting frame around factories in the minimap when the factory display mode is active, with the frame colour chosen according to the factory colour.

Is there still a part of this request that remains unresolved, such as the optional permanent display of factory names, or can the request be considered completed by r12081?
