Simutrans install on MAC OS 10.5.X?

Hi I tried to dl the MAC link on www.simutrans.com and a pak file but it only opens the simutrans file as a text document, I also dl SDL(not sure if I installed it correctly) and it also works as a text file.
does anyone know how to make it work? i remeber playing 99.xx
my Driver crashed some time ago and after I had it fixed it does not work.. anyone who knows how to fix this or is it a 10.5.6 problem?

em just found out that my MAC will not read any UNIX files, anyone know a fix?

If you use an intel mac, you can try the nightlies: There will be a current intel version soon.
