I'm sorry to have to report a finding.

Simutrans Experimental 8.0 does not react to my setting of factory_spacing. The result is that factories are very close together, right up to adjacent.

Savegame uploaded (factory_spacing = 32):

Ahh, I just realised that I missed this one when preparing 8.1. I don't have time to look into this at present, but factory spacing is not an area that I have touched with Experimental. Can you test with the latest Standard nightly to make sure that this is a Simutrans-Experimental issue? Thank you for the report, and apologies for missing it earlier.

Dutchman on Rails

Hi James,

Sorry, I don't use the nightlies. I did not see the problem with either Simutrans 102.2.2 on it's own, nor with Experimental version 7.3 installed on 102.2.2.

DoR,

one thing that I have just thought of: did you specify the setting in the pakset simuconf.tab or the main simuconf.tab? I ask because the latest version of Pak128.Britain-Ex has factory_spacing = 8 set, which means that a setting in the general simuconf.tab will have no effect.

Dutchman on Rails

Hi James,

When in doubt, I set both to the same setting, and this is no exception.

jamespetts

And what is the actual level of factory spacing that you are experiencing?

Edit: Testing with nightly version R3447 confirms that this bug is also present in standard. Moving to the Standard bug reports board...

The latest binary release of Simutrans-Experimental, version 8.2, released to-day, contains the fix for this problem. Thank you again, Knightly, for fixing this one :-)
