Futuristic double decker
« on: July 14, 2012, 02:15:21 PM »
Hi,

Few weeks ago I thought of making a new vehicle for the pak128,
and I decided on a double decker bus for the futuristic passenger transport.
So here it is, the CST Urban City DD:

Code: [Select]
#(provisional values)
obj=vehicle
name=CST_Urban_City_DD
copyright=Christian
waytype=road
engine_type=fuel_cell
freight=Passagiere
payload=127
power=270
speed=55
gear=100
intro_year=2027
intro_month=3
cost=2689000
RunningCost=129
weight=23
length=8
constraint[next][0]=none
constraint[prev][0]=none
EmptyImage[W]=CST_Urban_City_DD.1.0
EmptyImage[NW]=CST_Urban_City_DD.1.1
EmptyImage[N]=CST_Urban_City_DD.1.2
EmptyImage[NE]=CST_Urban_City_DD.1.3
EmptyImage[E]=CST_Urban_City_DD.1.4
EmptyImage[SE]=CST_Urban_City_DD.1.5
EmptyImage[S]=CST_Urban_City_DD.1.6
EmptyImage[SW]=CST_Urban_City_DD.1.7

Thanks for your praises  ;)

2017, that's already in five years.
I've thought of a late introduction, because the pak128 hasn't many buses in future,
so I think it's better to introduce this one a bit later.
If you compare my other futuristic bus with the double decker,
(in my opinion) the last one looks more modern and should be introduced after the "old" one.

I think, that speed 55 km/h is too small...

If it's a bus targeted for urban transport 55 kph is ok. Maybe raise it to 70 kph for suburban use. Anyway, new speed bonus system wouldn't consider higher speeds as city roads would limit effective speed.

Okay, I understand your proposals.
Maybe it's better to raise the top speed to 70 km/h.

Here's a new test version, I've increased the capacity to 185 and changed the running costs to 1,24.

Here it is: the new CST Interstate!
I 've made a few changes on the double decker, so it became a smaller, faster and more streamlined version.
For the .dat-values I have oriented myself on the S.Kroytor Traveler, but I haven't tested the bus with these values very well.

Code: [Select]
obj=vehicle
name=CST_Interstate
copyright=Christian
waytype=road
engine_type=fuel_cell
freight=Passagiere
payload=74
power=370
speed=170
gear=100
intro_year=2023
intro_month=7
cost=4850000
RunningCost=135
weight=19
length=8

constraint[prev][0]=none

EmptyImage[NW]=CST_Interstate.1.1
EmptyImage[N]=CST_Interstate.1.2

I like the smaller bus, but the double-decker... shaving a few pixels off the height might be nice, it appears incredibly huge and imposing.

Thanks!  :)
I resized the double decker a bit and I changed the values of both buses, so now they are more realistic.
Also the Interstate changed its name to Stateliner to prevent confusions with the Interliner  ;).
